The beautiful Hyde Park, our first stop that morning. We had one day in London, so we tried to cover the basics.
A view from the park. I was showing these pictures to a co-worker after the trip, and, no joke, she said "is that Buckingham Palace?" No... but it is a Hard Rock (not the reason I took the photo, though, just looked like an awesome huge place).
A scene from Piccadilly. Ate lunch at a Chinese place in the Chinatown to the right. It was crazy, there were all different kinds of people and then all of a sudden it was a different world entirely.
Another pretty building + Underground sign. We went to London about 2 weeks after the 7/7 attacks, and my parents made me promise I wouldn't ride the underground... but the Tower of London, our last stop, was going to be at least an hour walk from where we were! So we did, and it was fun (all those that are thinking I'm crazy right now, let me just say that I'd never been on anything like that before. Small town Texas isn't big on the public transportation!)
All our feet in front of Buckingham ~ mine are the small boots, Royal's are the brown boots, and our good friend and also RM Commando in the white.
Coolest egg-shaped building I've ever seen. Okay, only egg-shaped building I've ever seen! View from the Tower of London! A few of my Tower photographs here.
Tower Bridge, which I didn't get to walk over, but someday! I'd like to see it at night, too.
I look at the photos of Royal and I every day, especially weeks like this when we can't talk ~ he's on guard duty. Every once in a while he can get to the internet, but no actual real-live talkin'. Sunday's my goal!
