The BBC News 'Have Your Say' forum shows some interesting and, yes, annoying opinions. I'll let you decide which is which!
Few recent examples (not in order):
I am sick and tired of people complaining about Norman. 1)HE DID THANK THE TROOPS BUT NOT PUBLICALLY 2)IRAQ NEEDS HIM AND OTHER CHARITY WORKERS
IT IS NOT HIM WHO IS FOOLISH TO GO TO IRAQ THE WHOLE INVASION AND THEREFORE THE TROOPS ARE THE FOOLISH ONES. NORMAN AND OTHERS LIKE HIM ARE CLEARING THE MESS CAUSED BY THE INVASION! widuran Bertram, Letchworth, United Kingdom
Wonderful news for all. However, They should not have been there in the first place. Anyone not involved in the war effort, or the reporting of it should be there. Our troops have enough to contend with without having to risk their lives saving civilians who put themselves in danger for no real reason. Lorraine Goodrich, Torquay
Thank god for the SAS! They are the best special force in the world. They do a job that I know I would never be capable of doing, for no extra pay than the regular army so I've read. They are the envy of every armed force the world over. Well done lads! Paul Woolley, Retford, Notts
If these fools get taken again, the same troops who they show no respect for would go & save their behinds again & again. Why? Because its the right thing to do. Remember, the right to protest & say the stupid things many on this board so often do, is why the troops are there in the first place. Barry, columbus ohio
Will poeple STOP WHINING!
Thank god these people are safe! Instead of winging about the COST why not moan about WHY THE HELL WE ARE IN IRAQ IN THE FIRST PLACE! THOUSANDS OF IRAQI KIDS ORPHONED DUE TO THE "INVASION" - NOW THATS SOMETHING WORTH COMPLAINING ABOUT!
Meantime Saddam is in prison and safe and MAKING A MOCKERY OF HIS TRIAL! By the way WHERE THE HELL IS BIN LADDIN!? LEN MORRIS, LONDON
Other people have risked their lives to save this man. Unless I've missed something, I have not seen or heard any word of thanks from him, his family or his misguided supporters.
Is 'thank you' so hard to say however much he disapproves of his rescuers being in Iraq? Peter Haymes, Felixstowe, United Kingdom
