For those that don't know, I work at a Chamber of Commerce. Ever since August I've been "living" in an all girl environment. I used to work with only one other woman and two fun-loving wonderful happy men. I didn't know how good I had it!
Now, everything has to smell. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! There are candles everywhere, potpourri everywhere, scented "air refreshers" and even scented trash bags!
Trash! Bags!
Roses, in case you're wondering.
It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't get terrible headaches from scented candles, but anytime they forget this fact, I feel ill. So everyone makes fun of me. Eh, I'm tough.
Also, they feel the need to decorate every inch of space. With candles, figurines, candles, pictures, ornaments, candles, and stuffed animals. I don't mind the decorating really. It's just the every inch and the money part. I swear that they've spent half our budget on holiday decorations! So far they've only managed to invade my office with a patterned kleenex box (which I appreciate, my allergies are killin' me!)!
And of course the worst part of a female office, the hormones.
Oh dear Lord, the hormones.
I think it mostly stems from the fact that I've been here four successful years, the three new ladies - including our boss - are older and very inexperienced in this line of work, and they have to take direction from me. A twenty-three year old with 'some college.' You can imagine.
Funnily enough, cleaning has not increased since they started working here. In fact, I think the place was cleaner when the men were around. Interesting.
I'm just not as scent and decoration oriented as most women. Oh, and I dislike shopping, too, for those keeping track. I guess I just miss the boys, they were like my brothers.
My last day is December 20th, so only eleven work days left. The 20th is also the day I pick up Royal for our next big adventure!
After you leave, give me their address and I'll sell them some minty smelling urinal cakes, I'm sure they'll use them in the office...

Haha, why didn't I think of that?! They probably would ;o)
Nah they mean well, by golly, but I'm just not as girl-y as they are.
