I've talked about missing food, family, & weather - that's taste, sound, vision and touch.
But what about scent.
While living in Britain, I missed the smell of a skunk. Skunk scent. You know, driving down a dirt road (or the highway, whatever) and all of a sudden it's there and you can't get away from it even though your windows are up and somehow you think that should keep you safe.
It's not crazy. Though I'm also one of those people who doesn't mind the sound of nails on a chalkboard... Anyway, I know there are people out there who know what I mean! You know who you are. You people, you just 'get' me.
Apparently, skunks just hang out in North & South America, the Philippines & Indonesia. So if you haven't ever experienced skunk, y'all come see us.
Do they smell all the time or just when they are frightened.

I think just as a defense mechanism - when they get scared, attacked, or both!

Or run over.
AAA! I "get" you! I, also, have little problem with nails on a chalkboard. 'Course, it's easier now that we have whiteboards. :)
