I love it when you call
I love it when you call
I love it when you call, but you never call at all!
-- The Feeling -- Music video --
I haven't heard from Royal in over a week, which in this type of deployment is a bit strange. Normally, I would have heard from him by now, a few days ago even (not that anything is normal in any deployment but I'm trying to make a point here!).
This has led to a one-track mind. More specifically, I seem to be turning every song into something about phone calls. Today it was 'Some day my prince will come call' from Snow White... I don't even remember the last time I saw it, I don't even like that movie! (If we're talkin' classic Disney, I'm more of a Sleeping Beauty)
Call me
Don't be afraid, you can call me
Maybe it's late but just call me
Tell me and I'll be around
-------
If you call I'll be right with you
You and I should be together
-- Shirley Bassey --
The things that deployment will do to a person. I think every day that today will be the day. I check my phone every five minutes, making the screen light up and then getting all excited 30 seconds later because I catch the glare out of the corner of my eye. You'd think I would learn. But I don't.
Every night my phone is carefully placed in the same prominent spot beside my bed. Just in case.
And I check it first thing in the morning, even though the ring is loud enough for Royal himself to hear. Just in case.
So expect me to be calling you to see if you're okay when I'm not around
Asking if you love me, I love the way you make it sound
-------
I will keep calling you to see if you're sleeping are you dreamin' if you're dreamin' are you dreamin' of me
I can't believe you actually picked me
-- Blue October -- Music video
[You really should listen to the above if you haven't heard it, very sweet!]
I do that, too--the "excited by the light that you yourself just turned on" thing. It's okay. You're normal. Well...okay, I relate. :)

Haha, I'm sure I've never been normal. But I'm okay with that!
