Hey it was my blog birthday on the 8th and I completely didn't even remember!
I've been doing this two years. 2 Years! I can hardly even believe it.
That means I've been a blog reader for almost four!
I really started blogging because Royal was sent off training for 3 months and it was our first time "apart". The quotes for those who might not automatically know (hey, sometimes I have new people read this site!) are because my then-boyfriend now-husband and I have always lived in different countries (except for those 9 months we lived together in Britain, of course!). So technically we have mostly always been apart. But this was our first time with little to no communication.
He was in Senegal, and I was lonely.
Voila, a blogger.
As a small thank you to those who originally inspired me, I ask that you check out, read, and link the following very special blogs:
Ace of Spades - the first blog I ever stumbled upon
Milblogging.com - I read JP even before he founded milblogging.com. I even made a trip to Dallas to see his photographs on display in a neat art gallery. He was a joy to visit with and since then has made an effort to check in on me now and again. A real gem.
From My Position... On the Way - one of the first milblogs I ever clicked on every single day, sometimes 5 times a day! I remember feeling completely devastated and crying at work the day Carren posted that Chuck was badly injured in Iraq. The amazing thing about blogging is that you get to know people and they become somehow close to you even though they are so far away.
Right Hand of God - Another one I clicked on a million times a day. Two of the best guys and both were pretty much the first to ever reach out to a new little blogger and support her along the way! Uh, that would be me...
Michael Yon - What milblogger - or any blogger - isn't inspired by this man. I was amazed that he would take the time to email back some young women, me, and not only that but he was so honest and caring about what he was out there doing every day. Very kind and completely humble.
Past Imperfect - Even though Pat wasn't one of the first I ever read (she began blogging a little bit after I began) she has been the most supportive! And Past Imperfect is a must read from beginning to present!
SpouseBuzz - Again not one of the first even 20 I ever read as I was blogging before they began, but almost all of the ladies have talked with me (at the first SpouseBuzz Live event) or commented on this site. Most of them are linked on the sidebar. It's definitely a site to visit, every day is worth it!
There are so many that in some way have supported, really just a click for anyone on the sidebar does it! Yankee Mom, Universal Soldier & Fix4RSO helped me to start out strong. DK & BB gave me great advice for visiting/living in Britain. Goalie, Dagamore, Xeno, Grim, Charlie, Pat, BB, Alex Fear, Old Woman Marine, PoP, YM, Jwookie, Blue, SK & my Mom for their commenting! And of course, Blackfive, Mudville, Milblogs, Acute Politics, Right Wing Nut House, Dr Phat Tony's, Rogue Gunner and anyone I might be accidentally leaving out for linking a post at one time or another!!
Visit the sidebar! And to everyone, and I really mean this, thank you so much for making this possible fo rme.
Happy Belated Blog Birthday!!!!

Congrats Kath and thank you for your kind words. BTW do you know if Universal Soldier is still around. He was very kind and helpful to me.

And Pat, looking to avoid the "you can say that again, Pat" response by Xeno actually posts her comment THREE times instead of just two.
Well met.

Aw Xeno, usually I can get to hers and delete the extra one before you see and comment. Too fast for me this time.
Next time my friend...
Next time.
Pat, I haven't heard from US in so long. I still check the site occasionally (as I'm sure you do, too). He was such a friend!
