Royal thinks that Americans must think that England is an incredibly small place (and let's face it, it is, and a lot of us do. But not all of us, and not this little).
Every time he comes to America, he gets stopped for his gorgeous accent. A lot of these people have met someone or know someone from England. Then inevitably, and I do not exaggerate, they ask if Royal knows this person that they know. Because, you know, he must. It goes a bit like this...
Royal: Excuse me but I think you've overcharged us
Guy/Girl: Oh! You're not from here! Are you Australian?
Royal: No. British.
Guy/Girl: Oh! I love your accent (okay, that one is normally girl only) Where in Britain?
Royal: England.
Guy/Girl: I know someone from England, his name is Dave... Dave... hmm... Dave Grant. I think it was England anyway. Dave Grant. Do you know him?
Royal: Um. No. Sorry. You overcharged us... ?
Or some variation. Royal thinks it's hilarious. I didn't believe him at first, but it's true.
I think we're just an optimistic people and we like to believe that the world is small and cool things like that can happen!
I'm afraid I do it in reverse; so if I met someone from Missouri I would ask then if they knew Randall. What is crazy is that that is probably just his blog name:)

I get the same thing, having grown up in New Jersey, the most densely populated place on the planet.
People think, "Hm, on my globe it's about the size of a thumbnail..."

Haha, I guess probaby most of us have done it a time or two. Like I said, we're just optimistic, hopeful, coincidence lovers!
